Replacing the ceramic cartridge: the wall plate can be removed by screwing the back nut and wall plate further down the body to expose the grub screw which retains the cartridge, undo the grub screw using 3mm allen key. The head and cartridge is removed by gently unscrewing head and cartride from the valve body in a straight movement. Protect inside of valve body from construction debris for first fix. When re-inserting the cartridge smear the o rings with washing up liquid to lubricate re-entry in to valve body, BE SURE to line cartridge and body are perfectcly parallel and aligned, apply gentle pressure to re-insert, re-tighten grub screw with allen key.

Warning When refitting the cartridge if you are not perfectly aligned and try to force cartridge in on the scew you will potentially damage the sealing rings which will result in water leakage. Always pressure test after reconnection to ensure no leakage.

WARNING failure to secure cartridge will result in the cartridge being pushed from the valve body under water pressure and potential serious water leakage.
